This week the baby measures 6 inches (head to bottom), which is about the size of a large heirloom tomato. Jeff brought caprese salad with tomatoes and fresh mozarella, and Sarah brought a green salad with tomatoes on it to celebrate Eat Yo Baby. What a nutritious fetus!
And no, this isn’t the frame of the ultrasound that proves it.
I have to admit, I’m relieved we didn’t disappoint Nora. In fact, when we told her she was getting a little sister, she said, “It’s a girl! Just like I always DREAMED!” Plus, the new baby can share Nora’s room and use all the same baby stuff, so that will be handy. Go, team!
Since the baby is the length of a bell pepper this week (about 5 1/2 inches), E made roasted red and orange peppers with asparagus for Eat Yo Baby potluck. Delicious!
For potluck this week, we started a new tradition we like to call Eat Yo Baby. Since the baby weighs about as much as a turnip (5 ounces), I made a roasted vegetable dish that included turnips. Not at all offensive!
Before the snow in Midway got too bad, we headed to the outdoor skating rink with Dave and Angie. We even ran into the Boss family while we were there–but I can’t seem to find photographic evidence of that now. Anyway, great minds think alike!
You know what great minds DON’T do? Skate with their three-year-olds between their legs. That crap is hard.
If I didn’t still so clearly remember pushing Nora out of my own womb, I might start believing Kaeleigh was actually her biological mother. How else can I explain the physical, intellectual, and developmental resemblance? I ain’t no blond supergenius who can’t hold still.
After a bit of a rocky start, Nora loves her swimming lessons with Grace at Westminster. The pool is freezing, but she has such a great time anyway.
