all’s fair

Sarah and E more than fulfilled their auntly obligations by taking their respective nieces and nephews to an outdoor fair/benefit event in our neighborhood. Face-painting and coma-inducing amounts of sugar were enjoyed by all, and Nora charmed the live band into letting her be part of the percussion section. How’s that for sending summer out with a bang?

blocks

Blake and Nora have had so much fun with the blocks Sarah gave her. They take forever building the most elaborate castle they can, employing as many “tricks” as possible, and then the Knockdown Monster shows up and demolishes it to huge fanfare.

Nora and I visited Red Butte Gardens with Alex and Ellen (or as Alex and Nora call her, ‘Papa’).

hike

Nora and the rest of her class from her awesome preschool took a field trip up to Millcreek Canyon for a hike. So cute, it almost makes me want to start going outside.

Just like Mom?

When I took off the bandanna I’d tied on in a jaunty Rosie-the-Riveter style (aka covering up my unwashed hair), Nora picked it up and put it on her own head. The effect was a bit different paired with her glow-in-the-dark skeleton pajamas.
