Here are some Nora-related clips from Jillian‘s Lost In Space birthday party. Thanks to Rylee‘s parents for sharing! To clarify: Nora is not wearing blackface. She has already taken off her painted-paper-lantern-and-hula-hoop Saturn costume.

Saturn (and Jupiter)
I mentioned Jillian’s party here, and alluded to the fact that Nora had already taken off most of her costume. Here it is in all its charmingly hand-painted glory. Since the lantern (much like the real Saturn) doesn’t have arm holes, Nora talked a lot of other party guests into feeding her apple slices.
Bonus photos: Blake as Jupiter (our largest planet, Nora unfortunately not included for scale) and Sarah as Dippin’ Dots (ice cream of the future).
5 weeks
Our baby is a tiny tadpole!
Nora: “Mom, if we had a little baby at our house, I would feed her a bottle!”
Me: “Her? What if we had a baby boy?”
Nora (clench-teethed whisper): “That would be…difficult…”
at the chalet
Jillian and I took the girls up to her parents’ house in Midway, and let Lori and Rod play grandparents. Nora got to ride a horse for the first time!
four weeks
BabyCenter says that the baby we’re so excited for is now the size of a poppy seed. We haven’t told Nora I’m pregnant yet, since it’s still so early, but this morning she informed us at bathtime that she has changed her mind, and that she would like to have a new baby in our house–IF it’s a girl.
friends with benefits
You know what’s super handy? Being friends with someone else’s nanny. Jillian picked up Nora and fed her and Rylee lunch before taking them to the park and Maggie Moo’s. AWESOME.
exercise
I’m not sure Blake was adequately impressed.
all’s fair
Sarah and E more than fulfilled their auntly obligations by taking their respective nieces and nephews to an outdoor fair/benefit event in our neighborhood. Face-painting and coma-inducing amounts of sugar were enjoyed by all, and Nora charmed the live band into letting her be part of the percussion section. How’s that for sending summer out with a bang?
blocks
Blake and Nora have had so much fun with the blocks Sarah gave her. They take forever building the most elaborate castle they can, employing as many “tricks” as possible, and then the Knockdown Monster shows up and demolishes it to huge fanfare.
Alex’s Alphabet
Nora just has a supporting role in this one–we both try to get Alex to sing his ABCs.
